This patch comes with an experimental new game mechanic: Reloading. Such a mechanic is uncommon in tower defense games and I'm looking to gather player input in order to decide whether it should be kept or not.

Additions:

  • Each unit now starts with a set amount of ammo.
  • The current number of rounds is shown to the left of the unit's health bar.
  • As the ammo gets expended, it can be replenished by clicking on the unit.
  • When a unit runs out of ammo it will become highlighted in red.
  • A reload costs a set amount of money. See the tooltip description.
  • All defenders also gain a mele attack, which will trigger when an enemy comes into range. This is similar to how the enemies damage the defenders. This attack does little damage, but ought to be helpful in a pinch.
  • If there are several enemies in mele range, only the first one will be attacked. If the first one dies, the next one will be attacked.

Bug Fixes:

  • A bug with how the stopped enemy units were stored per defender. This was invisible to the players but could have affected performance.
